Grandparent Week #2

Grandparent Month continued this week with a visit from Patrick's parents. It was a fun week filled with more activities and events than Patrick and Ashley could ever dream of. I'm still exhausted just thinking about it!

Here's some pictures from the week...

The first stop was our weekly stop to the beach attempting to tire out Lola.
Dramatic sky, lots of wind, and the threat of rain can't keep us away!

THE BIGGER THE WAVES, THE BETTER FOR LOLA!!!

Next, Patrick, Ashley, Lee, Debbi and of course Lola packed up and decided to do some window shopping in I'on. While there, they stumbled upon an annual bike race. Lola loves bikes, so she begged us to stay and watch for a little bit...

Of course what trip to I'on would be complete without stopping by the pond so that Lola can do some duck watching!

Debbi was a little jealous that Lola got a chance to watch ducks, so it was only fair that our tour of I'on was finished up with a stop at the Rookery where she was given an opportunity to do a little bird watching of her own.

Next, The boys and girls split up for some adventures of there own! Patrick and Lee went off to see the USS Yorktown and Fort Sumpter and the girls went off to the Charleston Tea Plantation and Angel Oak.

Forget Goose and Maverick! It's Lee you have to look out for!

I don't think the Yorktown is going anywhere fast with that much Pluff Mud stuck to the bottom

Right about now I'm thinking Lee couldn't cut it on a sub! It was hard enough just walking through the doors!

Our ride to Fort Sumpter has arrived!

Everyone was visiting Fort Sumpter today. Even dolphins were pulling up to shore. Here is one flipping us some fin after we stole his parking spot at the pier.

On the return trip, we were lucky enough to see Brad Van Liew coming into harbor on one of the legs of his around the world race. He had quite the entourage greet him!

more dolphins!!
After visiting Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island, it was time to 'trash it up' a bit and head out to Folly beach for some tattoo watching and second hand smoking. We still managed to get a few good pictures out of it though!

With Easter comes the annual Hat Lady Parade in downtown Charleston. We were not going to miss this!

Debbi is second guessing her hat after seeing all the fancy hats that the ladies of Charleston displayed.

it's worth a shot though!

Debbi's pet frog

Before we knew it Easter was here! What better way to celebrate than Man-Cave style. This was the first Easter that Lola spent with us, so she got lots of special attention and treats from the Easter Bunny.

After Easter Baskets, it was time to begin prepping for the Big Easter Dinner Party..... ASHLEY'S SPECIALTY!!!
you can see the excitement building as she retrieves her china and crystal!!!!!

we are digging DEEP into the breakfront for all the goodies

can you see the intensity??? Lola is fully prepared to entertain guests

CREPE CAKE!!! 25 layers of delicious!

Lola's special easter meal! CHICKEN STEW!

Licking our lips before it even hits the bowl

AND WE'RE OFF!

Martha Stewart wouldn't know what hit her!

After a long filling meal, we retired to the driveway for some late night cornhole.... Note the cupcakes on the back of Patrick's car!

Before we even realized it, our busy week with the grandparents was over. It was exhausting, and filling, but we can't wait for next year!!!
