Charleston, Duck Donuts and one big Duck
Last week the Holmes crew was lucky enough to spend some time back in Charleston. Hudson couldn't wait to get back to his old stomping grounds!
When he arrived, "DoDo" had made his favorite.... corn on the cob!!!
One of the best parts about being a baby, is that you don't need an alarm clock to wake up before the sunrise. Each day, Hudson asked Mommy and Daddy to get out of bed to go walk on the beach...
Once it was daytime, it was time to get out the sand bucket, and swim trunks!
Uncle John brought his own toys!
There was time for relaxation...
Time to play cornhole...
There were wagon rides
We learned new phrases like "My Mommy"
There was puddle splashing galore...
There were unusual bathing arrangements...
There were oceanside pools (not belonging to Hudson)
There were Bike Rides....
There were close encounters with sharks!!!

We even got a chance to see some dolphins!
Once we got back to Virginia Beach, we found out that there had been a sighting of a very rare type of duck. Hudson asked us if we could help him, and we were very lucky in our search!
Patrick first took Hudson to Duck Donuts, and although Hudson enjoyed the stop, it was not the type of duck he was looking for...
Patrick did a little research and found the right duck!

Hudson was not impressed once he found out that the duck was not in fact a real duck... |
Did I mention we were not impressed by the duck??? |
Nothing a little tickling can't fix |
however, once the tickling stopped.... the cranky face returned! |
Hudson also got a special present that weekend. Daddy bought him his very own fire truck!!! With room for a dog!
To stick with our theme of non-stop traveling, we followed up our Charleston trip with a trip up to Grammy and Papa's for Grammy's Birthday celebration. Pictures will follow later, but for now, here's a sneak peak!
All that partying, playing, and traveling takes its toll on a toddler. Hudson tries to catch some Z's whenever he can...
