Hudson's First Airshow and his 2nd Birthday!

Hudson's Birthday may actually be only 1 day, but that doesn't mean we can't start celebrating it WAY in advance. The birthday fun started a week early when Papa came down to take Hudson to his very first airshow!

Not only did papa come down to see the Blue Angels, he came bearing gifts. He brought Hudson his very own backhoe to play with

 

After playing with construction equipment for most of the morning, Grammy, Papa, Hudson, and Daddy packed up and headed to Oceana to watch the planes fly

 

The group was even lucky enough to reconnect with Blue Angel #2 for a quick hello before his show.

Hudson didn't quite seem to believe us that John actually was in one of those planes, but Patrick was on mission to prove it to him the next day.

Hudson seemed sleepy, but was hanging on...

when Daddy asked him if he could make it long enough to see the Blue Angels, he gave him a solid thumbs up!

and 2 seconds later.... he was out.

And although he may not have seen the blue angels flying just over his shoulder, the sweet rumble of their jets lulled him into a deep slumber.

The next week was a short lull between festivities. It was marked by Hudson waking up every morning asking to see the Blue Angels, and Patrick being tasked with explaining to him that they are not here every day...

Before they knew it, the birthday weekend was here. Grammy and Papa, DayDay and DoDo, Caitlin, Chris, and Finn, and Uncle Mike were all here. Let the festivities begin.

 

While the baby is asleep, the grownups decorate cakes!

While babies are sleeping, Mommy and Daddy are out picking up adult snacks at Chik-Fil-A before they even open the gates

Once Mommy and Daddy were done running errands, they took Hudson back to one of his favorite places for an early birthday treat.... Off to the petting zoo!

 After ducks and goats and bounce house fun, Finn was off to the races!

 

After the petting zoo, it was time to get the yard ready for Hudson's party. Everyone chipped in!

Once the mower was gassed up and passed inspection, Hudson prepped the lawn for his friends

Even though people were just starting to show up, the Birthday Prince decided it was his meal time and wanted to start eating a little early.

Brent and Mommy decided to join in

Once Hudson was all fed, he was charged up and ready for a good time

At the end of the night, The birthday boy was the one giving gifts. He let Mike be the one to tuck him in at the end of the night.

 

The next morning Hudson started off with the usual cereal and milk, however being that it was his actual birthday, Mommy and Daddy gave in and let him also add a cookie and some pretzels to the menu.... Breakfast of Champions

The next day the family headed down to the oceanfront to take in the Neptune Festival and smell the ocean breeze

 

 

Hudson declared that he is a big boy, and decided to show us his backward walking skills.... just to be different.
