CHRISTMAS AND THE POLAR EXPRESS

Christmas has come and gone, but the memories are still with us. Now that we have finally recovered from the holidays, let's share some of what went on!

The season of giving started with Patrick's staff making an incredible gift in Harrison's name.

It is hard to start celebrating Christmas without a tree!!! Off to get our tree!!!
There they are!
Hudson walked through all the trees looking for the perfect one. Out of fear that he might get lost for a while, he brought a long a snack.

before we knew it, it was up and the lights were lit!

Next stop was Christmas Towne to see their giant train display. We were hooked!

Christmas Towne is exhausting!

This next picture doesn't scream Christmas, until you notice the fact that Hudson has moved his favorite picture (of the family at the Polar Express) so that it is in front of him at all times

All meals have Christmas themes... Even if that means making a combination snowman/reindeer for dinner
We got together with friends to watch the Polar Express

In the midst of all the holiday cheer, we took a moment to travel for a wedding with friends and family.

Poor Harrison was sick, which meant that Daddy stayed behind and babysat..... Pizza, fake face painting, pranks on mommy.... lots of fun...

Once we got past the wedding, it was time to get back to Christmas and go visit Santa!

Santa had quite the impression on Hudson..... There's always next year for a smiling picture!

One of Patrick and Ashley's gifts this year was a swingset for the boys.... "Some Assembly Required"

In order to make our Christmas Deadline, these elves put in work afterhours

Due to Harrison and his case of the Christmas Flu, Patrick and Hudson made the trip to NY for the Polar Express. Complete with a stop at only the best rest stop for a sit-down meal of Pizza and Strawberries (Hudson's Choice)

Hudson really loved being the center of attention. He had no problem snuggling into Grammy and Papa for some morning cuddles.

Nothing says Christmas time like getting to play with Papa's Christmas Train

Christmas time means Christmas Cookies. Grammy and Hudson were hard at work!

Meanwhile, back in VA, the sick baby pretends to not be sick....
ALL ABOARD! It was soon time for the POLAR EXPRESS!!!!

d
needless to say, we were just a bit excited
even Mommy got to experience the train ride
Our tickets were punched!

Hot Chocolate was served!

Santa was there too!

SANTA!!!!!

Even though Harrison and Ashley missed out, we recreated the picture later on. Hey, they WERE there in spirit!
Back at home Hudosn got back to playing with some of his early Christmas presents.
The swingset was coming together, however the elves would have to hustle to make their deadline!
The family went to Fredericksburg to celebrate with family
After some cousin bonding time, it was time to head back and get ready for Christmas
He Came!!!!

Christmas morning, and we are STILL not done!!!

Finally, the swingset was finished, and just in time for hot chocolate with Finn!

Even as the holidays have come and gone, we still sing carols, we still make rudolph pancakes

And we will leave carrots out for reigndeer!

sometimes it is too cold for swinging upright.... sometimes only a blanket will do!
