13 weeks... 21.5 lbs

Lola is now 13 weeks old and weighing in at a whopping 21.5 lbs. And if you're thinking that she can't fit under our table anymore....you're wrong! Lola continues to surprise us with how nimble and limber she is...

Lola has really become a member of the family, and that means that she goes on errands, she helps do chores, and in this situation, she is giving Patrick advice on the how much air to put in the tire of the car...

While runing our errands, we discovered that Lola is not just a fan of trying to climb in the front seat with Patrick and Ashley, but also with her grandparents...

Lola also demonstrated that once we get on the highway, it doesn't matter who is in the front seat.... the view is always better out the window!

After errands we came back home for our pre-game nap. Lola and Ashley made the rounds and got comfy in a few different places...

Due to the cold weather today, blankets were in order...

Fortunately Lola awoke just in time for the first Notre Dame touchdown and insisted that she be the first one to go up for pushups!!!

This past weekend Lola got very good at taking her grandparents for walks.... Although Debbi might say that she was the one taking Lola for the walk.... the jury is still out on who is calling the shots here!

HALLOWEEN PREPARATION
in preparation for halloween, we have started having Lola wear her costume to get used to it so that when the day comes, she will be comfortable and not preoccupied with what she has on. To our surprise, she seems more than comfortable in her new getup.

Although Lola doesn't seem to mind her ballerina outfit, she does have moments where she may seem slightly less than thrilled to be dressed up.

Patrick was even lucky enough to be greeted by a little ballerina when he got home today...

And now some random pictures of Lola...

AND NOW LOLA'S FAVORITE POSITION!

LOLA MEETS HER GRANDPARENTS

Grandma and Papa Holmes arrived this weekend at 4:00 in the a.m. and although Lola was sound asleep when they came in... she made the effort to give lots of kisses before retiring back to her bed for some beauty sleep...
When Lola awoke, she was very excited because her grandparents had brought her a present!!!

Although Lola though her awesome present was the tissue paper inside her bright pink bag, she was even more excited when she learned that there was something waiting for her a little deeper in the bag. In preparation for the upcoming winter months and her awaited trip to New York, her grandparents bought her a beautiful sweater.
Lola couldn't wait to put it on...

Even though this was a big Notre Dame weekend for Lola, she couldn't resist an opportunity to go to the UF homecoming parade... and insisted that she have her head out the window so she could tell everyone 'Go Gators'.

Once we arrived at the parade, Lola seemed to have a hard time understanding which way to face, and was more interested in what was going on in the other direction...

After the parade, Lola insisted on posing for a picture with a gator

Mom decided that she should do the same, but she wanted the REAL GATORS

All this parade business is pretty tiring though... Lola needed to take a little break with the grandparents

After the parade Ashley...the astute dentist...discovered that our little pup has lost her first 2 teeth....
THE EVIDENCE!

Lola was bound and determined to show her grandparents how tough she was...and she thought that the best way to show it was with her duck....

Later that evening, Lola wanted to take Ashley, Patrick, and her grandparents for a walk....just to show them how big of a stick she can carry...

This weekend it has become abundantly clear that Dad's affection and addiction to babies also extends to puppies..... Lola and Dad were nearly inseparable this weekend...

Mom was a bit jealous... and was still able to find some one-on-one time

Because it is gameday... everyone was aware that we needed to be well rested for the big ND/USC game... naps were in order!

And just for fun... a random Lola picture

1st DAY OF OBEDIENCE SCHOOL

Today was the 1st day of Lola's obedience school and despite Lola being the youngest puppy there, she was the second largest. She was definitely the stockiest, and immediately fell into the 'trouble-maker' category, wanting to play and distract all the other dogs instead of obeying. In the words of Ashley, "She was that fat kid at recess wanting to play tackle football with everybody". In Lola's Defense, everyone else has already been in training for a while, and she had moments of glory and was able to show off some of the commands that she has already mastered!

After puppy school, Lola was so hot and so tired, that all she could think about doing was laying down on the tile, legs stretched out, trying to get as much cool tile as possible!

Unfortunately because it was such a big event, we had our hands full and completely forgot to take pictures, so we'll have to document the 2nd day of obedience school and show everyone after that!

For now, All we have to share is how Lola greets Patrick when he comes home at the end of the day...
Enjoy!

3 months old!!! 20 lbs!!!

Our little pup is now officially 3 months old and 20 lbs.... she is no longer the tiny dog that we thought we had and it is becoming more and more clear!

LOLA AT 8 WEEKS

Lola at 12 weeks

And although she is growing up, we are still trying to teach her to act like a lady... although at times she doesn't seem to get it...

Even with that, we still feel we can make an argument that she may be the sweetest puppy we've ever met, and has a face that can melt your heart...

In other news.... Lola has become quite the pro at her obedience, and we are on the verge of understanding 'DOWN'... Although Lola will respond to it most of the time, we are still perfecting it, and will update you as soon as we reach our goal!
