The Outer Banks, First time at the Circus, and some other fun...
IT'S APRIL! Other than a looming baby due date, there are so many exciting things happening. From Birthday Parties, to family trips, Easter and petting zoos, we have so much to share. We LOVE spiderman parties... We are not so sure that we love spiderman though....
now balloon animals? That is something we can surely appreciate.
April also means little baby animals being born. Hudson took some time to show us the baby chicks at his school.
April also means the yearly Easter trip to the Outer Banks with Finn! (and everyone else too)
First stop? Checking in with Hudson's favorite Monster Truck Gravedigger!
Hudson describes to Grammy and Papa just how gravedigger ended up in that position.
It's important to unpack the most valuable things first on vacation
meals are especially fun with a friend
Grammy loves the beach! Finn is not necessarily impressed at the moment
So what if she is due in a couple weeks. Nothing stops this mama from wrestling with her favorite toddler!
There was attempted kite flying
They are buried!
And for the most dangerous event of Easter...... ALLOWING TODDLERS TO DYE EGGS!
Grammy and Patrick take on a much safer activity
Hudson's usual breakfast routine was modified to mirror Grammy and Papa's a little bit with some Tea every morning.
There were indoor picnics
There was jello! Maybe that wasn't a good thing....
time to relax
playing with 30 year old Easter toys
patiently waiting for small capsules to turn into dinosaurs!
And then, THE EASTER EGG HUNT
Definitely too time consuming to go inside and start eating candy.
Grammy came over to help out with the candy unwrapping
And then Finn decided to join in for a minute too
And then finally Papa joined the group
AND EVERYONE WAS HAPPY!
sleeping patterns are a bit different on vacation. Here's Hudson making a pillow bed for him and Grave Digger
The boys even shared a bedroom while there were in the OBX. Neeless to say there were some shenanigans!
What busy day wouldn't be even better with a movie at night in the theater?
When the sun finally came out and warmed us up, we needed something cold and sweet to cool us down!
And after we finish our own cone, we move on to Mommy's cone
After ice cream came a nice family walk
Every day filled with the same type of fun activites
tea in the A.M.
picnics for lunch
time in the 'pool'
splashing in puddles
story time
Before we knew it, the trip was over. The fun was just getting started though. Hudson got to go to the circus for the very first time.... Had cotton candy for the very first time. Saw camels for the first time, and needless to say, he had a blast!
Once we were back home, we had other fun things to do. First up, visiting the baby goats at the petting zoo!
The picnic trend continued at home
Patrick and Hudson began their first tennis lesson
There were stops for ice cream
fun with hoses!
Visits to the 'tractor store' or as mommy and daddy call it: Home Depot
We had smores when it was nice out
Dog cuddling at night
more trips to the zoo!
Hey, Hey, What day is it????
Hudsons palate has finally grown to include BACON! Daddy couldn't be more proud
There were even MORE trips to the petting zoo. We couldn't get enough of their goats and camels, and their frisky camels couldn't get enough of us!
Back at home our animals aren't quite as funny or new, but we still love them dearly!
