Its that time of year again, time to pack up the whole house and head off to the Outer Banks with Grammy, Papa, and the rest of the family. But first things first, a mandatory stop at the home of the great Gravedigger!!
This year, we not only got to look and touch the monster trucks, but we also got to RIDE in one! Needless to say, the experience got 2 big thumbs up!
We got into town a little early, so we decided to make a pit stop at the playground. Harrison is enjoying the last few days before his big birthday with lots of love from Grammy and Papa. Hard to believe it has been a whole year since this trip last year. A lot has changed, but a lot has stayed the same--thank goodness for family traditions!
These two peas in a pod area ready to kick off an entire week together!
Happy Grammy, Happy baby!
That's right, here comes the birthday boy! Happy first birthday, Harrison! Poor little guy was sick as a dog for the first bit of the trip, but managed to feel better for his birthday! His party will have to wait until next week when we can get home to the rest of his friends.
Nothing feels better than taking a nap with your baby. Well, maybe crawling in bed to watch morning cartoons with Grammy and Papa . . .
One thing you can always count on with Grammy, is lots of outdoor fun. Good thing our house has a fantastic driveway for scooters, bubbles, chalk, and more!
Taking a breather with Grammy
Nothing stands between the birthday boy and his food! Harrison had lots of meals sans clothes and then baths in the sink.
Hudson all snuggled up with Nonnie and Faba, probably waiting to head downstairs for a movie
We may be 1 years old today, but we are still not the cleanest eater! Into the sink you go1
Happy Birthday, dear Harrison, happy birthday to you! Even though his party wasn't until the weekend, we all decided that Harrison needed to have a little cupcake on his actual birthday
He wasn't sure at first. He picked it up and turned it over a few times . . .
. . . Took a bite, looked at us as if to say, "Are you sure I should be eating this?" We assured him that yes, he was--we even checked with his surgeon and his doctor--they both agreed he was cleared for birthday (cup)cake!
Once he was convinced, there was no stopping him! He actually seemed to like the cake portion better than the icing
A man after our own hearts, in for a penny, in for a pound. Great job, Harrison!!
Do you have anymore of those? I only turn one once, you know . . .
The aftermath: One giant baby covered in cupcake and icing, looking thoroughly delicious!
A little birthday surprise for our guy--just what he always wanted, a sink strainer! In all seriousness though, the sink in the house doesn't have a disposal. After this many years, Ashley finally wised up and bought one. It's the little things in life . . .
Hey, you guys missed some spots on my face!
One of Harrison's favorite parts of his sink baths, an unlimited water fountain!
One of the best parts of our house is the third floor playroom. Lots of space to move around and spread your toys out! The alligator from Hudson's third birthday even made an appearance!
Look at me, I'm so close to walking all by myself! Harrison has no problem keeping up with the big boys!
Grammy getting some TLC, maybe minus the T. Everyone loves to love Grammy!
Family portraits, can you believe this is the first year we have thought of this! Thanks, Grammy, for making it happen
Sweet baby cuddles, one baby for each grandparent
Check out our new shirts! What is better than sharks and pirates while you are at the beach? Pirate Sharks, of course!
The weather may not have been ideal for going to the beach, but it made for some pretty pictures
