Okay, so back to back to January 7th
A few notable notes:
- Hudson's First Day of Daycare
- Lucy's first full day without a crate
- #1 Notre Dame's first BCS Championship appearance in 25 years
We had rehearsed this morning many times, so Hudson was all ready for his big day. We got him dressed, packed his lunch (That was Mommy's job), loaded the car, and headed off to school.
For Ashley's sake, we will not be showing her face in these pictures. It is much easier to remember this day as exciting without any associated sad faces.....
Meanwhile, Patrick got to the office and proceeded to try to act like it was any other day. He subtly tried to cheer for his team. Living in S.E.C. country makes cheering for any other team dangerous.... It was very hard for him to contain himself, especially when he would have much rather been in Miami tailgating with his 'ND family'.
The day flew by, and Ashley and Patrick RACED back to pickup Hudson. Patrick won, but just by a hair! We got there to find one happy little baby and subsequently a very happy mommy
MOM, WE ARE IN PUBLIC! |
Hudson received his very first report card, and it was straight A's! NOTRE DAME HERE WE COME! (or UVA I suppose...)
Speaking of Notre Dame, don't we have a game to get ready for????
Hudson and Patrick got dressed in their lucky gear ASAP, and headed to the kitchen to prepare the feast!
Patrick rubbing the lucky socks |
Hudson face-timing his grandparents telling them all about his big day before the big game |
Leave Patrick alone in the kitchen long enough and he will come out wearing a suit of flour..... Hudson and Patrick both donning their ND bibs
Patrick practicing pushups with Hudson....
I should also take a moment to mention that we had 2 incredibly well behaved dogs who sat at home all day long.... Lucy has finally graduated to life without a crate, and she was promptly rewarded for her good behavior!
Patrick's game feast of finger foods was done promptly by kickoff!
What transpired over the next few hours will not be discussed here. Needless to say it was a very successful and eventful day that we will always remember, and what happenned during the hours of 8-12 will never change what a wonderful day it truly was.

Love thee Notre Dame |
Start counting the days...235 until next season. 235 days until the season where Hudson gets to go to his first football game! Now THAT will be a long blogpost...
